Jenna Ortega continues to showcase notable footwear looks on the promotional circuit for newest film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” which will hit theaters in early September. This go-round, she paid tribute to Winona Ryder’s character from the first film, Lydia Deetz, and donned a similar ensemble than the school uniform the teenager wore in the original 1988 film Beetlejuice.
Ortega opted for a pair of the Brock Heel Brogued Criss Cross pumps from Thom Browne as the finisher to her preppy look. Made with navy and white pebble grain leather, the shoes include a series of buckled straps along the mid-foot, brogue detailing dispersed throughout, a leather-covered heel with a rubber cap, a leather outsole for grip and traction and a signature striped grosgrain loop tab at heel.

Completing the set is a block heel which, per the brand, clocks in at a little over four inches in height. To compliment her standout shoes, Ortega elected to wear a long plaid skirt from the brand that fell right above her calf. She paired her skirt with a dark navy blazer and a white blouse underneath. She topped it all off with a purse that was also an ode to the original film, wearing a handbag with the words “Handbag for the Recently Deceased,” which is inspired by the book “Handbook for the Recently Deceased” that is featured in the original.

Ortega has chosen to put her footwear at the forefront over these past couple of weeks, and has already made plenty of strong choices. For an outing in New York City over the weekend, she was spotted in a pair of black loafers that featured lush black leather uppers, almond-shaped toes and a slip-on construction. Once again going for a preppy look, the shoes were finished with short stacked block heels, which she teamed alongside a white dress and flared skirt.
This followed an appearance for the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” photocall held in New York late last week, where she donned a pair of black Dolce & Gabbana Keira platform sandals that included a strap-heavy construction, a glossy black upper that transitioned into open toes, gold adjustable buckles and a thick platform sole estimated to be in-between 3-to-4 inches in height.
Directed by Tim Burton and scheduled to release in theaters on Sept. 6, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is about three generations of the Deetz family returning home to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. While there, Lydia’s (Winona Ryder) life experiences some turbulence when her rebellious teenage daughter discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife.
