Salehe Bembury’s burgeoning Crocs collection is getting yet another new look this week, this time courtesy of the designer’s “Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job” collaboration series.

Following a February project with Futura, Bembury is now tapping artist Jonas Wood for a special spin on the Crocs Pollex Clog shoe. For this collab, the Los Angeles-based Wood gave Bembury’s Crocs Pollex Clog design a patterned design reminiscent of his artwork, which often uses nature and plant themes. The abstract pattern blends shades of gray, black and white on the wavy, thumbprint-inspired upper of the Crocs Pollex Clog, which traditionally appears in solid colors.

Bembury’s “Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job” offshoot debuted in February. Graffiti artist Futura was tapped to add his signature flair to the Crocs Pollex Clog, which came in a blue and green look. Like the collaboration with Wood, just 1,000 pairs of the Futura version were released.

Along with this upcoming release, Bembury has been busy with a number of footwear projects. With Crocs, he’ll soon release the newest colorway of his Juniper sneaker and recently teased a boot-like shoe known as the Cypress. He’s set to launch a New Balance 530 collaboration soon and has also previewed a to-be-released New Balance 991v2. In addition, he signed a deal with Puma Hoops in July.

An accomplished artist in his own right, Wood’s “Japanese Garden 3” painting set a record in 2019 when it was sold by auction house Christie’s for $4,928,500.

Only 1,000 pairs of the Jonas Wood x Salehe Bembury Crocs Pollex Clog will be released on Thursday, August 22 at 9 a.m. PT from Bembury’s beaspunge.com e-commerce site. Retail pricing has not been announced, but the previous “Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job” release was priced at $95.
